Drinking water contaminated by excreted drugs a growing concern

Polluted Water
"If we’re taking it, we’re also drinking it: painkillers, blood thinners, hormones and contraceptives, antidepressants, chemotherapy agents, even cocaine and amphetamines pass right through most sewage treatment processes and end up in rivers and lakes, and then in our drinking water". Low doses of individual drugs are concerning, but even more problematic is the multitudes of drugs that are contaminating the water and how these may interact within our bodies.
