Artificial sweeteners may impair your gut health!

Regular consumption of artificial sweeteners has already been shown to affect blood glucose levels (despite them being "calorie-free"). A new study is now suggesting that these blood sugar altering effects may in part be due to alteratios in normal, healthy bugs that live in the digestive system. The alteration in these microorganisms is called "dysbiosis" by the medical community and contributes to a variety of chronic disease, weight gain and bloating, leaky gut and the development of food sensitivities. Dysbiosis has also been associated with other illnesses such as chronic fatigue syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, colitis, and bowel cancer.
