  • Cardiometabolic syndrome (CMS) is a constellation of symptoms that greatly increase a person’s risk factors for heart and vascular disease, diabetes, and other chronic and degenerative diseases. The risk factors for CMS include insulin resistance, visceral adiposity (obesity), dyslipidemia, microalbumineria, hypercoagulability, and hypertension. Three (3) of these risk factors must be present to diagnose CMS.
